Regent Road, Lostock

The completed design replaces a 1920s Arts and Crafts house that was unsuitable for modern living. The new home is tailored for 21st-century living, featuring an open-plan layout with spacious, naturally lit living areas and bedrooms.

Lower Giles

Originally an empty field with only the outlines of farm buildings, our initial site walk revealed a hidden gem—a stream that had carved a gorge through the landscape. This discovery was transformative. The sound of the flowing water and the way the landscape caught the light made it clear that our building design needed to embrace this natural feature.

As a result, we conceived an "upside-down house." The living spaces are positioned upstairs, allowing us to maximize the views and the ambiance created by the stream and the gorge. The night spaces are built into the landscape itself, offering a cozy and integrated connection with the environment.

Lakeside View, Penistone

The client purchased a field with views overlooking Scout Dyke Reservoir and was told by several architects that obtaining planning permission for a family home would be impossible.

Undeterred, we saw this as a challenge: “Could we design a house that planners would want to approve?”

Shaw Road, Rochdale

We have built a new house after the demolition of the existing house at Shaw Road, to be replaced with a modern home suited to contemporary living requirements for the 21st century.

The existing house has been deemed unsuitable for the clients living arrangements and so alternatively we have proposed a modern scheme which is better suited to an open plan form of living, providing spacious rooms flooded with an abundance of natural daylight.

Fairview, Oswestry

ArchitectureM has completed a striking contemporary home near the Welsh border, just outside Oswestry.

Inspired by the Institute of Ocular Microsurgery in Barcelona by Josep Llinas, the client desired a design that embodied the dynamic angles of that building while capturing the dramatic landscape of the area.

Old School Lane, Edgeworth

Located just outside the village envelope, this site lies within open countryside and has been held by the family for quite some time. We were particularly excited about its elevated position on a naturally occurring outcrop, offering tremendous views over the surrounding Lancashire landscape, including Entwistle Reservoir and Entwistle Hall.

The site is bordered by the original school, which has since been converted into homes. To harmonize our project with its surroundings, we designed it to blend into the ground, with the roof seamlessly flowing into the landscape and creating a meadow that enhances biodiversity across the entire site.

Clough Bottom Barn Conversion & Extension

Architecture:m has had an ongoing relationship with the family for the past five years, their latest scheme is for the development of an unused outbuilding known as Clough Bottom Cottage into a new family home. The cottage began life as a seventeen century small holding that later became used as an agricultural store for the nearby farmhouse which is within half a mile of the Peak District National Park and sits within the Oldham green belt, around two miles from the nearest village of Uppermill.

Oak Meadow, Kidderminster

The site of Oak Meadow Farm, located on greenbelt land within the rural outskirts of Kidderminster, had long been used for the keeping and raising of horses.

The client approached us after procuring the land and stables, seeking a bespoke house design for their growing family.

The contentious nature of the project had been a significant obstacle, for the family for some time and having spoken with numerous other people previously, were told that they would never achieve planning permission in that location for a new build house
