A single storey extension to the ground floor of this existing dwelling. The addition was designed to cater for the evolving lifestyle demands of the client and their young family, aiming to enable the “day to day” dynamics of the household to function in a more efficient and enjoyable manner, providing minimal complications for construction as well as meeting their desire for enhanced space, garden surveillance, privacy and natural light penetration
We achieved our aim, creating a subtle addition to the existing dwelling that “nestled” with the existing property and its soft timber exterior, gently flowing from the dwelling, towards the flora and fauna present in abundance at the rear of the property. This, whilst creating a soft and blurred boundary between the two properties, helps to reinforce the privacy of the home.
The soft timber façade, extends past the existing perimeter of the dwelling, facilitating storage solutions for garden equipment and recreational accessories etc. This enables the “weak” boundary between properties providing a secure environment for children to play and adults to relax
