60 new homes scout green manchester

creating a community
The Scout Green residential development is situated on a previously overgrown brownfield site, sequestered from the main road by the River Tame and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and having originally contained two disused depot buildings. Access to the site is gained via a narrow bridge from Manchester Road where the development opens into a spacious village green, encircled by a one way single lane street designed to encourage safe driving practices and alleviate the issues of roadside parking. The development features a diverse mix of housing, including smaller starter homes and larger family residences, arranged in a series of adjoining townhouses and terraces. These homes are accessed through smaller cul-de-sacs and shared spaces, providing safe play areas for children. The village green serves as the central communal space, promoting a healthy lifestyle and offering passive supervision from surrounding dwellings. Family cars are discreetly tucked away in integrated parking bays, screened by foliage and soft landscaping, keeping the shared surfaces free for pedestrian use and enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the development.
